Go Green Be Green is proud to be a participating business in both the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Act (VEET Scheme) and the NSW Energy Saving Scheme (ESS).
These schemes are designed to make energy efficiency improvements more affordable, contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases, and encourage investment, employment and innovation in industries that supply energy efficiency goods and services.

Go Green Be Green is currently involved in:

  • High Efficient pools pump installations
  • Commercial and domestic lighting upgrades
  • Showerhead replacements
  • Can help customers with Energy Assessments

These projects all contribute to reducing energy costs and the production of greenhouse gases. So far Go Green Be Green has made significant reductions in Carbon, approximately 250,000 tonnes and with your help is committed to increasing this figure.

NSW (ESS):

The ESS is a NSW-based mandatory energy efficiency scheme which commenced on 1 July 2009. The principal objective of the ESS is to create a financial incentive to
reduce the consumption of electricity by encouraging energy savings activities. It was developed as a complimentary measure to the proposed Commonwealth Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS).
The ESS is designed to increase opportunities to improve energy efficiency by rewarding companies who undertake eligible projects that either reduce electricity consumption or improve the efficiency of energy use. The ESS is modelled on the end-use energy efficiency part of the Demand Side Abatement component of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Scheme (GGAS). This part of GGAS ceased with the commencement ESS on 1 July 2009. Electricity retailers and certain other parties such as electricity generators who supply direct to a customer and market customers who buy or sell electricity in NSW are known as Scheme Participants. They are mandatory participants in the ESS and are required to meet individual energy savings targets based on the size of their share of the electricity market. However, for some large electricity users, classified as emissions intensive trade exposed industries, a proportion of their electricity consumption will be partially exempt from the ESS.
Scheme Participants achieve their individual energy savings targets by surrendering Energy Savings Certificates (ESCs). ESCs are created by accredited certificate providers (ACPs) when they carry out activities that increase the efficiency of electricity consumption or reduce electricity consumption. These activities are known as Recognised Energy Savings Activities (RESAs) and are described in the Energy Savings Scheme Rule of 2009 (the ESS Rule). ACPs voluntarily apply to the Scheme.

Victoria (VEET):

The VEET scheme is a Victorian Government initiative promoted as the Energy Saver Incentive. It commenced on 1 January 2009 and is administered by the Essential Services Commission (ESC). The scheme was established under the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Act 2007 and is administered in accordance with the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Regulations 2008.
The VEET scheme is designed to make energy efficiency improvements more affordable, contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases, and encourage investment, employment and innovation in industries that supply energy efficiency goods and services.
Under the scheme, accredited businesses can offer discounts and special offers on selected energy saving products and appliances installed at homes, businesses or other non-residential premises. The bigger the greenhouse gas reduction, the bigger the potential saving.
